Disentangling your Writing Processes

This is the third of three workshops in a series designed to support students who will be writing a PhD Qualifying Exam Proposal over the summer, though registration is open to all FASE graduate students.

Many writing challenges at the graduate level are the result of underdeveloped writing-process skills. Writing requires us to metabolize ideas and information in distinctly different stages, but many people enter graduate school without having learned what these stages are or how to leverage them into an efficient, sustainable writing practice. This workshop in this series will introduce four stages of the writing process (pre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing) and share strategies you can use to build your writing-process capacities.
