Science without Borders offers top Brazilian students two scholarship options:
Four year PhD at the University of Toronto: Science without Borders provides up to four years of full funding (tuition, travel and living) and up to two months of language training. A fifth year may be supported by the U of T, if necessary. There can be no extension of the PhD beyond five years.
12 months as a visiting PhD student: for students pursuing a PhD in Brazil, to conduct research in a U of T lab. Science without Borders provides funding to cover travel and living expenses.
The application process proceeds as follows:
- Apply to the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).
- Apply to the University of Toronto department of your choice. If the application deadline has passed, and if a professor has expressed an interest in supervising you, then notify the department to which you are applying and request that they open the application system for you.
- If we offer you conditional admission to a PhD program, you then apply for a Science without Borders scholarship.
